In addition to my work as a ski instructor, I was looking for an opportunity that, thanks to its precise schedule, would allow me to get there on time for my lessons. This is how I found the position of Dotcom Driver at Tesco.  Tesco is a flexible and family-friendly workplace characterized by a work-life balance. It is my responsibility to deliver the products ordered by customers online to the addresses provided. We are the connection between the customers and the company, so I am only satisfied with my work if the delivery is on time and the customer is satisfied as well. Flexible working hours gave me the kind of freedom that allows me to combine work with educating so I don’t have to choose between Tesco and the ski slope. In addition to the diverse roles of drivers, I also have the opportunity to learn and develop. My Tesco colleagues have now become my friends, from whom I have learned a lot and it is time that I can now teach them something new on the ski slopes as well.

I have a little girl, so when I was looking for a job, it was a basic consideration for me to find a job that was compatible with my family. My store manager provides me with a shift schedule that allows me to spend quality time with my child. My workplace is characterized by a family atmosphere, we are in a friendly relationship with my colleagues. We can take part in trainings within the company, so the path of development is open to everyone, thanks to which we can also apply for higher positions. My managers support me, I recently successfully completed the shop sales course and I was also trained to perform shift management duties. My long-term goal is to fill a position as Shift Manager and then Store Manager at Tesco.

It was a great happiness for me when it turned out that I will be a dad. I knew I needed to create a stable, secure background for my family and that’s why I applied to Tesco. I started as a Forefront Customer Assistant of Technical department at the company, but over time I wanted to get higher and higher up the ladder. Thanks to the development opportunities provided by the company, I managed to fill the position of Commercial Director in Szeged, and later I became a Store Manager. I had to commute a lot between family and work. Thanks to the flexibility of Tesco and the support of my supervisor, I managed to get my wife to settle in a small Tesco in Szeged and my little girl can go to kindergarten a few meters away. So, I no longer have to worry about work-life balance. Because of this I am very grateful for the company.

I have been working for Tesco for 14 years. First, I managed to get a job through a student agency, and then my manager at the time offered me to work directly for the company as a Forefront Customer Assistant. Later, when I was already Department Leader, I applied for the Tesco internship program because I decided I wanted to be a Store Manager. I managed to implement my plan, as I first ran the Berettyóújfalu store for a year and a half, and now I am the manager of the Mátészalka store for the fifth year in a row, where I work in a cohesive and supportive team. The job holds new challenges every day, but the trainings provided by the company allow everyone to develop, so I am always prepared to take on unexpected situations and new tasks.

I started as a student at Kolosy Tesco three years ago, and then I continued my career at the Csillaghegy store. Although at first I found it strange to apply because of my hand, but I proved to my colleagues how fast I learn and how I work deftly. Everyone was very kind and helpful, at first, I only worked at the checkout, but later I also did the packing tasks. At Tesco, they are very flexible in terms of schedule, so in addition to work, we also have time to rest; in my free time I like to play computer games. I really like working as a Convenience General Assistant and I envision my future here as well.

I’ve been with Tesco for 12 years, my career path was an exemplary one. I started as a shop assistant, then buyer, then I was trained for a manager and now I’ve been working as a Store manager of Expres.

I’m very loyal, Tesco is a matter of heart for me, as they’ve supported me a lot already twice in my life. The first case was, when I was searching for a job as a mother of 5 kids. I’ve been rejected in every interview. At Tesco it wasn’t an issue for anyone. Tesco gave me a feeling of extraordinariness, that even after 5 kids I can make it. The second case was, when I had a car accident and Tesco was waiting for me and kept my role. It was a sign that I’m respected and appreciated. I would recommend Tesco to others, because everyone can be who they’re – regardless of gender, age, education or background.

I joined Tesco in 2014 for an agreement as a cashier, more or less by coincidence. I wanted to move out from my parents and Tesco was searching for the agreement workers. I’ve never regretted this coincidence, as I’m very happy here. I’ve been currently working as a shift leader for more than 3 years. We’re as a one family here, many colleagues have been working here for many years. We accommodate each other with the shifts. Women work more in morning shifts because of kids, but we try to be fair and balance it. We organize many activities for fun – Halloween, celebrating St. Nicholas or special days with costumes. Customers are always enthusiastic when they visit the store and there is an Easter bunny, replenishing the products.

After I finished school, my schoolmate was an agreement worker at Tesco and he brought me here with him – I worked as a greengrocer that time. Tesco gives many opportunities for growth, so I took a chance and become firstly a shift leader, and now I’m a Shift manager. It’s a challenge, I’m now responsible for all colleagues and store in the shift. I’ve found many friends here, we do many activities together after working time.

I joined Tesco in 2007 in a graduate programme, where I spent one year in a training. After that I become a manager in different departments, which was a great experience. After few years I moved to Store manager role, and currently I’m responsible for all colleagues in one of our hypermarkets. I was lucky to be surrounded by great people in my career. Graduate programme was very intense, colleagues were experienced, and they dedicated time to me. Now I also try to invest to our newcomers and colleagues and focus on their development and growth. I’m proud that many of them I’ve trained, are now in managerial role or working in our Head office.

Tesco offers many different benefits, as 10% discount for all Tesco shoppings or Multisport card. But the biggest benefit is the great team and people.
